Center for Sepsis Control and Care (CSCC)

The CSCC is a research institute of the Jena University Hospital (JUH) and the School of Medicine of the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. It is one of the Integrated Research and Treatment Centers in Germany, funded by the BMBF (German Ministry of Education and Research). The CSCC will establish new structures in academic medicine with protected time and dual affiliation for clinical researchers. It will overcome traditional boundaries between medical as well as scientific specialties and between medicine and the life sciences. All aspects of sepsis, from risk prediction to long-term sequelae and health economy, will be covered. Core units will include a comprehensive CSCC Trials Center which integrates the CSCC Site Management Unit and Sepsis Data Unit as well as the CSCC Biobank.
